Cheep train tickets: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheep-train-tickets < << great advice

For cheep train tickets try:
* SPLITTING YOUR JOURNEY: buying seperate tickets on the same train on the same route can be cheeper than one ticket covering the whole journey.
* BOOK IN ADVANCE: Try to book 7 days in advance or even up to 12 weeks, if possible.
* GO TO THE TOC’S WEBSITE: Cheeper fares are sometimes available directly from the TOC (train operating company).
* TRY BUYING AT A TOC STATION: Stations managed by your TOC (train operating company) sometimes sell cheeper tickets than stations operated by other TOCs or National Rail.
* BUY TWO SINGLES: Sometimes two singles can be cheeper than a return ticket.
* SAVE ON ACCOMODATION: Sleeper trains from London to Scotland available from only #19. Save on no hotel for the night.
* TRY MEGATRAIN.COM: http://www.megatrain.com have really cheep fares available (but I think not on your route).
* TRAVEL OFF-PEAK: Travel at off-peak times, if you can.
* CONSIDER CHANGING: Changing and possibly using a non-direct TOC can also decrease the price.
I hope this is helpful.
